Lead commercial roofing projects, develop your team and take ownership of quality, safety, programme and site delivery.
We’re working with a well-established, family-owned building services company delivering roofing, plumbing and construction projects throughout the North Island.

They are looking for experienced Roofing Foremen to join their teams in Palmerston North. Reporting to the Roofing Manager and supported by an experienced project management team, you’ll lead from the front while working alongside a team of roofers and apprentices.

This is a hands-on leadership role offering ownership of your projects, from planning labour and materials through to workmanship, client communication and site reporting.

The role

• Lead daily toolbox talks and coordinate the team’s workload
• Work alongside the team while maintaining productivity and programme
• Coach apprentices and roofers to improve capability and workmanship
• Ensure quality, safety and compliance standards are met
• Read and interpret detailed construction plans
• Order flashings, sundry items and other project materials
• Maintain accurate timesheets, job notes, photographs and project updates
• Use SiteAppPro and SimPRO to manage project and safety information
• Communicate progress, delays and site requirements proactively
• Build professional relationships with clients, site managers and suppliers

We’re looking for an established Foreman or capable Leading Hand ready to take greater ownership. You’ll be organised, confident communicating with clients and comfortable using technology as part of your daily work.

Ideally, you will have:

• Broad experience across long-run roofing, cladding and membrane systems
• Exposure to warm-roof or built-up systems such as RoofLogic
• Strong commercial roofing experience
• A thorough understanding of the New Zealand Roofing Code of Practice
• The ability to read and interpret complex plans
• Experience leading teams, planning labour and coaching others
• Good computer literacy and accurate record-keeping skills
• A New Zealand roofing qualification; LBP status is highly regarded
• Current MEWP and working-at-heights certification
• A full New Zealand driver licence
