POSITION SUMMARY
The Foreman Service Technician is responsible for performing roof inspections, leak investigations, maintenance services, and roofing repairs on commercial and residential roofing systems. This position works closely with the Service Estimator and Service Manager to safely execute repair work, document roof conditions, and provide customers with a high-quality service experience.
The Foreman is also responsible for executing service work in the field safely, profitably, and on schedule. This role leads a crew, enforces production standards, controls labor hours, protects material usage, and ensures quality installation that meets BRW standards.
The Foreman is directly accountable for:
· Labor productivity
· Safety compliance
· Job quality
· Material control
· Crew leadership
This is a production leadership role — not just a technical installer. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, self-motivated, dependable, and committed to delivering exceptional workmanship while upholding Black Roofing & Waterproofing’s Core Values.
OUR CORE VALUES IN ACTION
Everything we do at Black Roofing is grounded in five core values. As a Foreman Service Technician, you are expected to live these daily and reinforce them through your leadership of the crew:
· Accountability
We take full ownership of outcomes. No blame shifting. No gaps in follow-through. As the leader in the field, you are accountable for your crew’s safety, labor hours, material usage, and the quality of every repair.
· Craftsmanship
We build it right—the first time. Quality is not a goal; it is the standard. You are responsible for ensuring every repair follows manufacturer specifications, reflects pride in workmanship, and holds up without a callback.
· Team First
We win together. Service only works when the field crew, estimators, coordinators, and managers operate as one team. You are responsible for supporting your crew, removing obstacles in the field, and keeping the office informed.
· Integrity
We do what we say we are going to do. We communicate honestly, document accurately, and do the right thing on every roof—even when nobody is watching. You set the example for honesty and transparency with customers and your crew.
· Continuous Improvement
We don’t accept “this is how it’s always been done.” We are always improving safety, productivity, communication, and team development. You are expected to coach your crew, share lessons learned, and help raise the standard of BRW service work.
