Roofing Laborer

EXPERIENCED ROOFING CREW LEAD / FOREMAN

Mahogany Roofing is an established roofing company with 15+ years of industry experience. We are looking for an experienced, reliable, and safety-focused Roofing Crew Lead / Foreman who can lead a crew, follow management instructions, and maintain our company’s standards for quality, productivity, and safety.

This position is for someone who knows roofing and understands that being a Crew Lead means being responsible for the crew, the jobsite, and following company procedures from start to finish.

ROOFING EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Candidates should have strong hands-on experience with:

• Asphalt shingles
• Tile roofing
• Metal roofing
• Roof repairs and installations
• Jobsite preparation and cleanup
• Proper roofing materials and installation procedures

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and supervise roofing crews on residential and/or commercial projects
• Follow all instructions provided by company management, supervisors, and project managers
• Make sure crew members follow company procedures and jobsite requirements
• Install, repair, and inspect roofing systems correctly
• Maintain high-quality workmanship on every project
• Complete work according to project specifications and company instructions
• Communicate professionally with management, customers, inspectors, and other contractors
• Identify roofing problems and report them to management before proceeding when necessary
• Keep the jobsite clean, organized, and safe
• Train and direct crew members when needed
• Ensure the crew has the proper tools, equipment, PPE, and fall-protection systems before beginning work

SAFETY & OSHA REQUIREMENTS — STRICTLY ENFORCED

Safety is not optional at Mahogany Roofing.

All Crew Leads are required to understand and follow OSHA requirements, company safety policies, and all applicable jobsite safety rules.

The Crew Lead is responsible for helping ensure that their crew:

• Uses required fall-protection equipment correctly
• Uses harnesses, lifelines, ladders, scaffolding, and other equipment properly
• Wears required PPE
• Follows all applicable OSHA safety requirements
• Does not bypass, disable, or ignore safety procedures
• Maintains a safe working area
• Follows all instructions regarding jobsite hazards and safety procedures
• Reports unsafe conditions immediately
• Stops work and notifies management when a serious safety issue needs to be addressed

Failure to follow OSHA requirements, company safety procedures, or direct instructions from management may result in removal from the jobsite or disciplinary action, up to and including termination.

YOU MUST BE ABLE TO FOLLOW DIRECTIONS

We are looking for someone who can lead without creating problems.

The Crew Lead must be able to:

• Take direction from management and follow instructions exactly
• Communicate when there is a problem instead of making unauthorized decisions that could affect the project
• Hold crew members accountable for following company rules
• Follow project specifications and installation requirements
• Accept corrections and make adjustments when instructed
• Work as part of a team
• Maintain a professional attitude on every jobsite

Being experienced does not mean you can ignore company instructions. We expect our Crew Leads to use their experience while still following Mahogany Roofing’s procedures and management direction.

REQUIREMENTS

• Proven experience as a roofing foreman, crew lead, or highly skilled roofing professional
• Strong knowledge of shingle, tile, and metal roofing
• Previous experience supervising roofing crews
• Strong understanding of jobsite safety and fall protection
• Ability to follow OSHA and company safety requirements
• Ability to follow instructions from management
• Reliable transportation
• Dependable attendance
• Professional attitude and communication
• Ability to work safely at heights and in varying weather conditions
• Ability to perform physically demanding roofing work
• Willingness to complete company safety and practical skills evaluations

PAY & SCHEDULE

$25/hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

• Full-time — approximately 40 hours per week
• Monday–Friday
• Occasional overtime or Saturday work depending on project needs and weather
• $500 signing bonus after 60 days of satisfactory employment, subject to company terms

HIRING PROCESS

Applicants may be required to complete:

• A roofing experience interview
• A safety interview
• An OSHA/fall-protection safety evaluation
• A hands-on roofing skills evaluation
• Verification of previous roofing and crew-lead experience

Mahogany Roofing is looking for dependable leaders who take safety seriously, follow instructions, produce quality work, and know how to keep a crew moving.
