Roofing Sales Representative

Prior roofing sales experience is required.

We are adding a Roofing Sales Representative to our team. We are looking for an experienced salesperson who understands roofing, can confidently work with homeowners, and has a proven ability to close jobs.

What you’ll do

• Sell retail and insurance-related roofing projects.
• Meet with homeowners, evaluate roofing needs, and explain project options.
• Prepare and present accurate proposals.
• Follow up with company-provided leads and close sales.
• Generate additional business through referrals, relationships, and prospecting.
• Maintain accurate customer and sales records.
• Coordinate with production to ensure the agreed scope of work is clearly documented.

Required qualifications

• Prior roofing sales experience with a demonstrated record of closing projects.
• Knowledge of roofing materials, installation basics, and project estimating.
• Familiarity with retail roofing sales and the insurance restoration process.
• Ability to inspect roofs safely and document conditions accurately.
• Strong communication, organization, and follow-through.
• Ability to prospect and generate business independently.
• A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

General sales experience without roofing sales experience does not meet the requirements for this position.

Lead opportunities

This role combines company-provided leads with self-generated business. You must follow up promptly on provided leads and actively develop your own sales opportunities.

Compensation: 10/50/50 commission structure

Your compensation is based on the profit from projects you sell:

• 10% of the contract amount is allocated to company overhead.
• Direct job costs are deducted.
• The remaining job profit is split equally: 50% to the company and 50% to you.

Example: On a $20,000 project with $10,000 in direct job costs, $2,000 is allocated to overhead, leaving $8,000 in profit. Your commission would be $4,000.

Actual commissions vary with project pricing and costs.

When commissions are paid

Commissions are paid when the job is fully closed out: the work is complete, final job costs are recorded, and payment has been collected in full.

Most retail projects can be completed within approximately one week. Insurance projects may take longer due to claim processing and payment timelines. Commission payment depends on full job closeout.
