Duties

• Perform thorough cleaning of guest rooms, offices, hallways, restrooms, and common areas using appropriate cleaning equipment and chemical agents
• Handle laundry duties including sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distributing linens and uniforms in accordance with healthcare or facility protocols
• Follow strict sanitation procedures to prevent infection transmission and ensure compliance with healthcare infection prevention and control standards
• Safely operate cleaning machinery such as floor buffers, vacuums, and steam cleaners to maintain high standards of cleanliness
• Adhere to safety protocols including OSHA guidelines for chemical handling, manual handling, heavy lifting, and safe lifting practices
• Maintain accurate records of cleaning activities, supply usage, and safety inspections
• Assist with waste disposal following environmental services regulations and sanitation procedures

Skills

• Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to chemical handling, manual handling, and environmental safety protocols
• Experience with cleaning techniques specific to healthcare facilities or commercial environments
• Proficiency in laundry operations including sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distribution of linens
• Ability to handle chemical agents safely while following proper procedures for chemical handling and sanitation
• Familiarity with cleaning equipment such as floor care machines, vacuums, and steam cleaners
• Strong customer service skills to interact professionally with staff, patients, visitors or clients when needed
• Physical ability for heavy lifting and performing manual tasks while maintaining safety protocol adherence
• Understanding of healthcare infection prevention and control practices to ensure a safe environment for all occupants
