Position Summary

Reporting to the Director of Housekeeping, Housekeeping Manager, and Room Inspectors, the Room Attendant is responsible for cleaning and servicing guest rooms, bathrooms, corridors, and assigned public areas while delivering exceptional service to our guests. This role requires efficiency, attention to detail, professionalism, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction.

Essential Responsibilities

• Clean and service assigned guest rooms, bathrooms, corridors, and designated public areas.
• Make beds, change linens, replenish towels, and replace guest amenities.
• Vacuum, dust, polish, and sanitize all guest room surfaces.
• Maintain bathrooms to luxury hospitality standards, including mirrors, fixtures, showers, tubs, toilets, and floors.
• Restock guest supplies, including toiletries, tissues, glassware, coffee amenities, and other required items.
• Ensure guest room security and respect guest privacy at all times.
• Update room status accurately throughout the shift.
• Complete deep-cleaning and rotation assignments, including spring cleaning and carpet maintenance, as assigned.
• Deliver requested items to guest rooms promptly and professionally.
• Safely handle and turn in all lost-and-found items.
• Maintain housekeeping carts, closets, and service areas in a clean and organized condition.
• Report maintenance deficiencies, safety concerns, or unusual room conditions immediately.
• Assist with cleaning public areas when business needs require.
• Anticipate guest needs, respond courteously to requests, and resolve concerns professionally.
• Maintain complete knowledge of hotel services, departmental procedures, and cleaning standards.
• Consistently support Gansevoort's luxury service standards and brand expectations.
• Report to work on time, in proper uniform, prepared for duty, and promptly notify management in accordance with company policy if late, absent, or unable to work as scheduled.
• Perform other duties, responsibilities, and special projects as assigned by management to support business and operational needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous hotel housekeeping experience preferred; luxury hotel experience is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent time management and ability to work efficiently.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to follow instructions and established cleaning standards.
• Flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
• Frequently bend, kneel, crouch, reach, push, pull, and lift up to 30 pounds.
• Ability to safely operate housekeeping equipment and cleaning tools.
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment while maintaining productivity and quality standards.
