Ross ERP Tech Consultant/Engineer

Contract Type: Direct 1099 Independent Contractor

Eligibility: Candidates must be able to contract directly as an individual (1099). We are unable to accommodate Corp-to-Corp (C2C) , third-party agencies, employer-sponsored arrangements, or W2 status for this engagement.

Summary

We are seeking two Ross ERP Technical Consultants for one of our clients to clear a stalled RICEF backlog on a two-wave, multi-site Ross v8 program. This is a hands-on build role focused on rebuilding undocumented Ross v7.4 objects for Ross v8 as a critical path to UAT.

General information

This engagement supports a food and beverage process manufacturing program spanning multiple facilities. Two sites are upgrading from Ross v7.4, and one site is converting from QAD, with a strict MVP mandate focused on upgrade, conversion, and stable go-live.

The environment is execution-first and suited to consultants who can start building without waiting for a written specification. The work is delivery-focused, with volume and steady daily output prioritized over redesign or architecture work.

Tasks and Deliverables

• Rebuild, test, and deliver Ross v7.4 RICEF objects into Ross v8 at a sustained daily pace.
• Develop SSRS reports, interfaces, extensions, custom forms, and labels.
• Analyze undocumented legacy v7.4 objects and build working equivalents in Ross v8.
• Build and refine integrations, including automated warehouse integration and file exchange work against Ross.
• Support conversion and MDM efforts, including extraction, field mapping, conversion validation, and legacy reconciliation for QAD source data.
• Diagnose, fix, and retest defects raised by business testers through UAT cycles.

Required experience

• Hands-on Ross ERP technical development across both v7 and v8.
• Experience with SSRS reports, extensions, interfaces, forms, and labels.
• Ability to work in an undocumented environment without a written spec.
• Strong SSRS report authoring and deep SQL, including stored procedures and query tuning.
• Direct experience building, maintaining, and debugging integrations connected to Ross ERP.
• Track record of high-volume delivery against a backlog under a live go-live deadline.

Nice to have:

• Food and beverage process manufacturing knowledge, including lot traceability, expiration dating, and license plate data structures.
• Warehouse automation or WMS integration experience.
• Familiarity with QAD data structures for conversion mapping.
• Prior work as or alongside an Aptean or Ross Systems technical consultant.
