Roster Analyst

Role & responsibilities

• Analyse workforce, roster, attendance and staffing data to identify trends, gaps and optimisation opportunities.
• Develop and maintain SQL queries to extract, transform and analyse workforce-related data.
• Use Python for data cleaning, analysis, automation and recurring reporting.
• Analyse employee availability, shift requirements, leave, absenteeism, overtime and staffing patterns.
• Support the preparation and optimisation of employee rosters across multiple sites and shifts.
• Identify roster conflicts, understaffing, overstaffing and potential coverage issues.
• Build analytical models to support workforce planning and demand forecasting.
• Develop automated reports, dashboards and MIS for workforce and roster performance.
• Monitor roster adherence, workforce utilisation, overtime and staffing efficiency.
• Coordinate closely with Australia-based Operations teams to understand requirements and resolve roster-related challenges.
• Work with India-based HR, Operations, Analytics and other internal teams to ensure smooth execution of workforce processes.
• Communicate roster changes, exceptions, insights and recommendations clearly to relevant stakeholders.
• Investigate data discrepancies and ensure accuracy across roster and workforce datasets.
• Automate repetitive data preparation and reporting activities using SQL and Python.
• Track key workforce metrics and provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to improve roster processes, workforce utilisation and operational efficiency.

Preferred candidate profile

• Strong proficiency in SQL for data extraction, joins, aggregations, CTEs and analysis.
• Good working knowledge of Python, particularly Pandas and NumPy.
• Advanced MS Excel skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent stakeholder management and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both Indian and Australian stakeholders.
• Comfortable participating in calls, discussions and meetings with Australia-based teams.
• Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into analytical solutions.
• Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong ownership and ability to proactively identify and resolve issues.
• Ability to work effectively across different cultures, teams and time zones.
