Rotary Equipment Engineer

Roles and Responsibilities :

• Responsible for rotating equipment engineering activities for FEED, detailed engineering, and bidding projects in oil & gas and petrochemical facilities.
• Prepared equipment datasheets, specifications, requisitions, RFQs, and enquiry documents for rotating and package equipment.
• Handled engineering activities for centrifugal pumps, diaphragm pumps, progressive cavity pumps, gear pumps, magnetic drive pumps, centrifugal compressors, cooling towers, EOT cranes, chemical injection packages, cold rooms, chilled water units, and lube oil systems.
• Reviewed and evaluated technical offers received from equipment vendors against project specifications, datasheets, applicable codes, and client requirements.
• Prepared Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE), technical comparison statements, and Technical Recommendation Reports for vendor selection.
• Reviewed vendor drawings, documents, calculations, and technical submissions to ensure compliance with project requirements and applicable API/ASME standards.
• Prepared technical queries and clarifications for clients, licensors, vendors, and internal engineering teams.
• Participated in vendor kick-off meetings and coordinated with vendors to establish engineering deliverables, schedules, and technical requirements.
• Supported post-order technical discussions with vendors to resolve engineering issues, technical deviations, and design-related queries.
• Coordinated with procurement teams for technical and commercial interfaces related to equipment procurement.
• Liaised with clients, licensors, vendors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to resolve technical issues and ensure timely project execution.
• Reviewed and provided technical comments on vendor documents, drawings, and data sheets during the procurement and engineering phases.
• Ensured rotating equipment selection and design compliance with project specifications, applicable international standards, and client requirements.
• Participated in technical training related to centrifugal compressors and lube oil systems and applied the knowledge during vendor document and package reviews.
• Performed technical review of centrifugal compressor package vendor prints, including associated lube oil system documentation.
• Supported equipment selection and technical evaluation activities during bidding and project execution stages.
• Maintained effective coordination with multidisciplinary teams to identify and close technical interfaces and ensure smooth project delivery.
• Monitored vendor document submissions and supported timely resolution of comments to meet project engineering and procurement schedules.

Job Requirements :

• 8-15 years of experience in the oil & gas industry, specifically in rotating equipment engineering.
• Strong understanding of ammonia handling systems, centrifugal pumps, compressors, and turbines.
• Proficiency in reviewing vendor documents and RFQs related to equipment procurement.
