Rotating Engineer

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and diagnostics on rotating equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability
• Identify and resolve mechanical and operational issues with pumps, compressors, turbines, and other rotating machinery
• Conduct vibration analysis, shaft alignment, and balancing operations to prevent equipment failure
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive maintenance records, reports, and documentation for all rotating equipment
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to plan and execute preventive and corrective maintenance activities
• Monitor equipment performance metrics and recommend upgrades or replacements when necessary
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and implement effective solutions to minimise downtime
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations during all maintenance activities
• Support training and knowledge transfer to junior engineers and maintenance staff
• Participate in emergency response procedures and assist with crisis management situations

What we're looking for

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Rotating Equipment Engineering, or a related discipline
• Minimum 5-7 years of hands-on experience in rotating equipment maintenance within the oil and gas or similar industrial sector
• Demonstrated expertise in the operation and maintenance of centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, turbines, and associated systems
• Strong knowledge of vibration analysis, shaft alignment techniques, and bearing management
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment monitoring software
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong analytical skills
• High level of technical competency and attention to detail
• Valid certification or training in rotating equipment maintenance (API or equivalent recognised standards preferred)
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate technical information clearly
• Flexible and willing to work rotating shifts as required by operational demands
• Strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards
