Garbage Guys Inc. is looking for a reliable, hardworking Route Driver to join our team. We are a locally owned, veteran-owned father-and-son company that takes pride in providing dependable trash service throughout Cheyenne and Laramie County.

This is a full-time route position for someone who understands that the workday is finished when the route is finished — not at a specific time on the clock.

Schedule

• Start time: 5:30 AM
• Drivers must be available to work until the assigned route is completed
• Daily finish times will vary depending on route volume, landfill conditions, weather, equipment, and other operational factors
• Early mornings are a normal part of this job

Job Responsibilities

• Safely operate a commercial garbage truck on assigned residential and/or commercial routes
• Complete all assigned stops accurately and efficiently
• Get in and out of the truck multiple times throughout the day
• Handle trash bags and other materials as required by the route
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections
• Safely dump loads at designated landfill facilities
• Follow company safety procedures and DOT requirements
• Take care of company equipment and report mechanical problems promptly
• Communicate with the office regarding route issues, missed stops, blocked containers, or customer concerns
• Maintain a professional attitude when dealing with customers and the public
• Work independently and take ownership of completing the route correctly

What We’re Looking For

• Route driving experience strongly preferred
• Commercial truck or waste industry experience is a plus
• Dependable attendance and punctuality are extremely important
• Must be comfortable starting work at 5:30 AM
• Must be willing to work until the job is completed each day
• Must be physically capable of repeatedly entering and exiting a commercial truck
• Ability to work outdoors in Wyoming weather conditions
• Ability to work at a steady, efficient pace throughout the day
• Good situational awareness and safe driving habits
• Ability to follow directions and learn established routes
• Must be self-motivated and able to work without constant supervision

Driver Requirements

• Valid driver’s license/CDL appropriate for the equipment being operated
• Acceptable motor vehicle record
• Ability to meet applicable DOT requirements
• Ability to safely perform the physical duties of the position

Garbage collection is physical work. Some days are easy, some days aren’t. Weather, traffic, landfill delays, heavy routes, and unexpected problems are part of the business. We need a driver who can adapt, keep moving, and take pride in doing a good job.

Pay: $17.50 - $23.00 per hour
