Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Route Supervisor to lead and coordinate transportation operations within our logistics network. In this vital role, you will oversee daily route planning, vehicle dispatching, and driver management to ensure timely, efficient, and compliant delivery of freight. Your expertise in transportation planning, logistics systems, and communication will drive operational excellence and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities

• Supervise daily route assignments, ensuring optimal delivery schedules using transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and Vehicle Dispatch Software.
• Coordinate with drivers, warehouse teams, and internal departments through multi-line phone systems and internal communication platforms like SyteLine and AS400.
• Monitor GPS and GIS data to track vehicle locations, optimize routes, and improve overall road transportation operations.
• Manage freight shipments, shipping & receiving processes, and ensure compliance with DOT regulations.
• Handle phone call management with customers, carriers, and drivers, maintaining professional phone etiquette and clear communication.
• Oversee vehicle dispatching processes, ensuring adherence to DOT standards and fleet management best practices.
• Maintain accurate data entry related to transportation activities, including dispatch logs, delivery reports, and internal documentation.
• Support logistics functions by analyzing transportation data to identify efficiencies, troubleshoot issues, and implement process improvements.

Experience

• Proven experience in road transportation operations or logistics management with a strong understanding of supply chain principles.
• Familiarity with transportation planning tools such as GIS, GPS tracking systems, Oracle Transportation Management, and vehicle dispatch software.
• Knowledge of freight handling procedures, shipping & receiving protocols, and 3PL (third-party logistics) coordination.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills for effective dispatching, internal communication, customer service, and phone call management.
• Experience working within DOT regulations and compliance standards is highly preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel) for reporting and data analysis; typing skills are essential for efficient data entry.
