What they need

Welcome to the future of nuclear energy , where Westinghouse Electric Company is leading the field with expertise and innovation to shape the power of tomorrow. At Westinghouse, innovation is in our DNA. We are creative. We think differently. We reimagine the possible across the nuclear industry every day.

Maintenance Technician – Reactor Services – Special Projects

Company Description Westinghouse Electric Company is an American company founded by George Westinghouse in 1886. It operates in the fields of design and manufacturing of nuclear fuel assemblies, specialized services for the industry and associated engineering, as well as the design and construction of new nuclear power plants.

Did you know? Westinghouse is the world leader in the nuclear industry, with more than 50% of the world’s power plants equipped with its pressurized water reactor (PWR) technology—the same technology used today by almost the entire French nuclear fleet. Fifty-two of EDF’s 56 reactors were built by the French company Areva‑Framatome, but under a Westinghouse license granted in 1974.

Job Responsibilities You will report to the Maintenance Operations Manager based in Villejust, within the ELA (Europe Latina America) / Reactor Services department. You will learn to prepare and carry out maintenance activities and/or replacement of nuclear equipment. Interventions take place exclusively at CNPE (Nuclear Power Plants) sites in France or Europe. Work includes radiological risks.

You will become familiar with the different phases of nuclear‑environment interventions, including installation safety, radiation protection, quality compliance, and schedule control.

You will travel to French nuclear sites approximately 80% of the time, with occasional work abroad.

You will also participate in the development and qualification of new tools or the improvement of existing equipment.

Depending on your skills and interests, you may also develop leadership competencies.

Your skills in mechanics, electrotechnics, and robotics will enable you to maintain automated tools, diagnose failures, and provide technical assistance to operators.

You will need to develop true technical expertise on this complex equipment.

Potential career evolution depending on your skills, performance, and experience:

  • Maintenance Manager
  • Team Leader
  • Intervention Supervisor

Examples of tasks you may perform on CNPE or international sites:

Opening and closing of reactor vessels, including automated maintenance and lubrication of vessel threads

Stress corrosion treatment on primary or auxiliary piping

Replacement of reactor internals components (e.g., guide tubes)

Fuel television inspection

Non‑destructive examination of vessel head penetrations

Inspection and replacement of reactor vessel internals components

Maintenance, assessment, and improvement of equipment in hot conditions

Desired Profile A Bac+2 level diploma in mechanics, electrotechnics, or robotics at minimum and/or similar experience.

Knowledge in automation, electronics, and general mechanics is an asset.

A good level of English is required to collaborate and grow within our internationally present group.

You are rigorous, autonomous, and a strong team player, with good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate at different levels.

A valid driver’s license (category B)
