Ruby on Rails Developer (Mid Level)

Role Overview

We are looking for a passionate and technical Ruby on Rails Developer to join our team at Data Wow. In this role, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of backend development—from researching and designing algorithms to deploying scalable, fault-tolerant services. If you love solving complex logic, writing clean test specs, and working with high-load environments, we want to see how you can help us innovate.

Key Responsibilities

• Research, design, and manage algorithms and flowcharts; translate business requirements into efficient backend code.
• Write high-quality reusable code, develop quality assurance procedures, and maintain a strong focus on writing test specs.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing software while recommending and executing technical improvements.
• Set up projects from scratch, including service design, fault-tolerant architecture, and technical documentation.
• Deploy software tools and processes, ensuring microservices are scalable and high-performing in high-load environments.
• Work closely with a multidisciplinary team of designers, developers, and the Business team to evaluate user feedback.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Ruby Developer.
• Strong experience in backend development with a focus on Ruby on Rails.
• Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL (SQL Clusters) and NoSQL (Cassandra, MongoDB), along with caching strategies.
• Proven understanding of Microservices, service scalability, and fault-tolerant design.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CentOS/CoreOS, and Cloud Providers (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Solid understanding of DNS, IPv6, network protocols, and software security best practices.
• Ability to build libraries/plugins (e.g., Gems, Hex, Pip, Npm modules).
• Experience with Localization (L10n) and Internationalization (i18n).
