Rules Developer (MX)

Stand8 provides end-to-end IT solutions and staffing services to enterprise partners across North America, with operational presence in Mexico supporting a wide range of technology, engineering, and business roles.

Seeking a Rules Developer to build the core conversion workflow for an AI proof of concept with a major media and entertainment partner. You will work across financial agreements, Excel models, and historical results to produce rules that experts can inspect, test, and trust. The work combines hands-on Python engineering with a challenging business problem: determining what a contract requires, what an existing model calculates, and why the results may differ.

Key Responsibilities

• Build Python-based workflows to ingest agreements, amendments, Excel models, and approved reference data.
• Implement document extraction that identifies relevant terms while retaining clause-level source citations.
• Analyze workbook formulas, named ranges, dependencies, inputs, outputs, and calculation assumptions.
• Reconcile contract language and spreadsheet logic with historical results, including possible manual adjustments or overrides.
• Convert supported financial logic into standardized, effective-dated, versioned rule objects for Rulebricks.
• Build validation routines for calculations that depend on prior statements, payments, or other historical state.
• Route discrepancies, missing information, and unsupported logic for subject matter expert review, and incorporate approved decisions.
• Create automated tests, regression fixtures, evidence records, and result summaries that demonstrate accuracy and traceability.

Qualifications

Required:

• Strong Python development experience building data-processing, calculation, or business-rules applications.
• Hands-on experience analyzing complex Excel workbooks, including formulas, dependencies, and linked data.
• Experience extracting structured information from documents using optical character recognition, AI, or document-processing tools.
• Ability to implement and test complex financial calculations, including cumulative or prior-period logic.
• Experience producing structured JSON outputs and integrating with APIs, Rulebricks, or comparable rules engines.
• Experience building automated tests and investigating differences between source documents, modeled rules, and actual results.
