Job Summary

Café Intermezzo - Midtown is seeking an energetic, dependable, and detail-oriented Runner / Expo to support our front-of-house and kitchen teams. As an established European-style coffeehouse in Midtown Atlanta, we serve a wide selection of meals, specialty beverages, pastries, cakes, and desserts in a welcoming dining environment.

The ideal candidate works efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant, communicates clearly with kitchen staff and servers, and takes pride in delivering accurate orders with excellent presentation. This role is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hospitality and wants to develop restaurant service skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure food orders are complete, accurate, and ready for service.
• Deliver meals, beverages, pastries, and desserts promptly to the correct tables.
• Verify orders against tickets and check presentation before food leaves the service area.
• Communicate special requests, modifications, and dietary notes to the appropriate team members.
• Describe dishes to guests when delivering orders and respond courteously to basic questions.
• Retrieve condiments, utensils, napkins, and other items guests may need.
• Assist servers with clearing tables, removing used dishes, and resetting dining areas.
• Keep expo stations, trays, counters, and service areas clean and organized.
• Restock service supplies and help prepare stations for upcoming shifts.
• Communicate order delays or missing items to servers and kitchen staff.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and restaurant service procedures.
• Support opening, closing, and other duties assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Friendly attitude and commitment to excellent guest service.
• Ability to work quickly and accurately during busy dining periods.
• Good attention to detail when checking orders and special requests.
• Previous food runner, server assistant, or restaurant experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to follow instructions and coordinate multiple tasks.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Availability for daytime, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts as scheduled.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and carry food trays safely, with reasonable accommodations where applicable.

The restaurant emphasizes a relaxed atmosphere and attentive hospitality, welcoming guests throughout the day and into the evening.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36.0 per week
