RV Service Writer / Service Manager

Full-Time | RV Industry Experience Required

We are looking for an experienced RV Service Writer / Service Manager to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who has hands-on experience working as both a service writer and service manager and understands what it takes to keep an RV service department organized, efficient, and profitable.

The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, highly organized, customer-focused, and comfortable managing multiple repair orders, technicians, customers, parts, and priorities at the same time.

What You'll Be Responsible For

● Manage the day-to-day operations of the RV service department

● Write and manage repair orders from check-in through completion

● Communicate professionally with customers regarding repairs, estimates, timelines, and recommendations

● Schedule and coordinate work with technicians

● Monitor repair orders and ensure jobs are progressing efficiently

● Maintain accurate documentation and follow up on outstanding work

● Work closely with the parts department to ensure parts are identified, ordered, and available when needed

● Diagnose customer concerns and communicate repair needs clearly to technicians and customers

● Review completed work for accuracy and customer satisfaction

● Help maintain service department organization, workflow, and productivity

● Identify additional service and repair opportunities when appropriate

● Work with the sales department when service-related issues arise on sold or prospective RVs

● Use a DMS system proficiently for repair orders, customer information, scheduling, parts, billing, and department tracking

● Help ensure the department provides an exceptional customer experience while meeting operational goals

Required Experience & Skills

● Previous RV service writer experience is required

● Previous RV service management experience is required

● Strong knowledge of RV systems, components, and common repairs

● Strong RV parts knowledge and ability to identify parts needed for repairs

● Proficiency using a DMS (Dealer Management System)

● Excellent organizational and time-management skills

● Ability to manage multiple repair orders and priorities simultaneously

● Strong customer service and communication skills

● Ability to communicate effectively with technicians, customers, parts personnel, and management

● Understanding of RV sales processes and how the service department supports the sales department

● Strong attention to detail and follow-through

● Ability to work in a fast-paced dealership environment

● Professional attitude and strong leadership skills

Sales Knowledge Is a Plus

The successful candidate should understand the connection between service and sales. Knowledge of RV sales processes, trade-ins, delivery inspections, customer follow-up, and identifying additional opportunities will be highly valuable in this position.
