SAFE START PROGRAM COORDINATOR-PT-TEMP

Greenville County Animal Care is seeking two compassionate and resourceful individuals to serve as Safe Start Program Coordinators. These part-time positions will lead the development and implementation of the Safe Start Program-a proactive initiative designed to support pet families in crisis and reduce the number of animals surrendered to the animal shelter. The program combines existing and new services that help people keep their pets through temporary challenges such as housing insecurity, financial hardship, or medical emergencies. The Safe Start Program Coordinator serves a role similar to a social worker in a human service agency-working one-on-one with pets' owners to assess their needs and connect them to community resources, including pet food and supplies, veterinary care, behavior support, emergency boarding, and pet legacy planning. The coordinator will also build referral systems and collaborative relationships with local human service organizations to expand access to support for pet-owning clients. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must have a valid South Carolina Driver's License.
