SAFE START PROGRAM COORDINATOR-PT-TEMP

Greenville County Animal Care is seeking a compassionate, resourceful individual to serve as a Safe Start Program Coordinator. This part-time position is scheduled to work 3-4 days per week, based on program needs. The Safe Start Program is designed to help keep pets with the families who love them by providing support before a crisis leads to surrender. Working much like a social worker, the coordinator will meet with pet owners to assess their needs, identify barriers to keeping their pets, and connect them wih available resources such as pet food and supplies, veterinary care, behavior support, emergency borarding, temporary foster care, pet legacy planning and other community services. The coordinator will also build partnerships with local human service agencies and community organizations to strengthen the network of support available to pet-owning familes throughout Greenville County. Qualified candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent; experience in human services, social services, case management, community outreach, or a related field is preferred. Successful candidates will be compassionate, empathetic, and non-judgmental, with excellent communication and organizational skills, the ability to build trusting relationships, manage multiple priorities, and work collaboratively with community partners. A genuine passion for helping both people and pets is essential.
