Safety Advisor

An established Tier 2 Queensland construction company is looking for an experienced HSE Advisor to join their team on a new mid-rise residential development on Brisbane’s north side .

This is a long-term opportunity, with the project expected to run for approximately two years , with further projects in the pipeline beyond this development.

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of day-to-day HSE across a mid-rise residential construction project.
• Partner closely with the Project Manager, supervisors, subcontractors and workforce to drive positive safety outcomes.
• Conduct regular site inspections, audits, observations and risk assessments.
• Review and monitor SWMS, permits and high-risk construction activities.
• Lead incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks and ongoing safety communication.
• Support the implementation and continuous improvement of HSE systems and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, company standards and project requirements

About You

• 3–5 years’ experience in a Safety/HSE role within the Australian construction industry.
• Previous commercial construction experience is needed.
• Residential, mid-rise or high-rise experience will be advantageous.
• Strong understanding of WHS legislation, risk management and contractor engagement.
• Confident communicating with site teams, subcontractors and senior management.
• Practical, proactive and solutions-focused approach to safety.
• Comfortable working autonomously and taking ownership of the HSE function on site.
• Relevant WHS qualifications.
