Safety Advisor

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Serves as Secretary to the Health and Safety Committee including preparation of minutes of meeting, reporting status of recommendations made, notifying members of the meeting and submitting to the company a report of the activities of the committee including recommendations made.
2. Acts in an advisory capacity on all matters pertaining to health and safety for the guidance of the employer and the workers.
3. Conducts investigation of accidents as member of the Health and Safety Committee and Submits his separate report and analysis of accidents to the employer.
4. Coordinates all health and safety training programs for the employees and company.
5. Conducts health and safety inspection as member of the committee.
6. Maintains or helps in the maintenance of an efficient accident record system and coordinates actions taken by the Supervisor to eliminate cause of accident.
7. Provides assistance to government agencies in the conduct of safety and health inspection, accident investigation or any other related programs.
8. Determine the required minimum Personal Protective Equipment applicable in the project and ensure its proper use at all times.
9. Conduct daily surveys of construction/warehouse operations to ensure compliance with company, client, and government safety standards and regulations. Identify safety and initiate corrective measures by responsible supervision.
10. Assist the projects’ most senior manager/ Project In-charge in conducting the safety toolbox meetings and ensure attendees are listening attentively in the meeting.
11. Assist the projects’ most senior manager/ Project In-charge in preparing the Safety Toolbox Topic concerning the near misses, accidents and/ or incidents, Hi-potential incidents, etc. happened on site for everybody’s awareness and assigned speakers to conduct the same from operation group
12. Prepare a Monthly Safety Performance Summary and Monthly Safety Data Report to be submitted to Head office on a monthly basis.
13. Conducts safety audit on the project sites in a weekly basis together with the construction/ warehouse manager, superintendents, engineers, and supervisors. Minutes all the findings noted during the inspection and furnish a copy to all who participated and to those areas in charge with concern.
14. Assist Project Management in the planning, Method Statement, risk assessment and other safety matters, identify and recommend appropriate action.
15. Monitor that adequate firefighting equipment is provided and maintained on work site and offices/ facilities.
16. Monitor that suitable first aid facilities and trained persons are available at work.
17. For purpose of effectiveness in a workplace where Safety Advisor is required, he shall report directly to the HSE Manager and provide full assistance to the operation team to ensure that the company complies with the HS&E Policy.
