We are seeking an experienced Safety Advisor to support our site-based Maintenance team in Moranbah. This is an opportunity to work closely with operational leaders and maintenance personnel, providing practical safety guidance and helping drive safe, compliant and productive operations.
About the Role

Combining hands-on safety support with reporting and administration, you’ll work alongside supervisors and employees to identify risks, strengthen safety practices and maintain compliance across the site.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing HSE advice and support to maintenance personnel, supervisors and site leadership.
- Conducting site inspections, audits and safety observations to identify hazards and improve safety performance.
- Supporting incident investigations, risk assessments and the implementation and close-out of corrective actions.
- Monitoring compliance with legislative requirements, site procedures and MacKellar’s HSE Management System.
- Assisting with the development, review and implementation of safety procedures and improvement initiatives.
- Promoting hazard identification, risk management and safe work practices across the maintenance team.
- Maintaining accurate safety records, registers, reports and site documentation.
- Supporting general HSE administration and reporting requirements.
About You

To be successful in this role, you’ll have:
- Previous experience as a Safety Advisor within the coal mining industry.
- Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety.
- Current G1, G8, G9 and G2 competencies, or a willingness to obtain them.
- A current Queensland Driver Licence.
- A sound understanding of HSE management systems, risk assessments and relevant legislation.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with employees and site leadership.
- Good organisational skills, attention to detail and confidence managing safety documentation.
- A hands-on, solutions-focused approach and the ability to work independently.
Please note: Applications will be considered from candidates with relevant coal mining experience and the required qualifications.
