Safety Coordinator

Position Summary

The Safety Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the Safety Department. This position is responsible for managing driver onboarding and orientation, coordinating training programs, maintaining safety documentation, supporting ELD troubleshooting, and ensuring accurate and timely safety reporting. This role is highly detail-oriented, operationally focused, and serves as a key point of contact for drivers and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

Driver Onboarding & Orientation

• Coordinate and manage all aspects of driver onboarding and weekly orientation
• Ensure all required documentation is collected, completed, and properly filed
• Verify training completion and compliance prior to drivers being released
• Serve as a primary contact for new drivers during the onboarding process

Training Administration

• Assign and track all quarterly training for drivers and staff through Luma
• Monitor training completion and follow up as needed
• Maintain accurate training records and documentation
• Assist in setting up new training initiatives as directed

Safety Systems & Technology

• Assist drivers with ELD-related issues, troubleshooting and resolution
• Work closely with Safety Director and Compliance Manager to ensure ELD compliance
• Update and maintain Screenly displays with current safety messaging
• Support ongoing use of safety technology platforms

Safety Data & Reporting

• Download, input, and track all roadside and internal inspections
• Update leadership KPI tracking sheets daily
• Ensure safety metrics are accurate, timely, and complete
• Assist with audits, reporting, and internal safety reviews as needed

Administrative & Operational Support

• Maintain and update the company store portal
• Assist with miscellaneous safety-related tasks and projects
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Safety Department
• Act as a reliable point of support for drivers, leadership, and operations

Qualifications

• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• High attention to detail and follow-through
• Comfortable working with technology and multiple systems
• Ability to communicate clearly with drivers and leadership
• Self-motivated and able to work independently
• Experience in trucking, safety, compliance, or logistics is a plus
• Familiarity with ELDs, DOT compliance, or training platforms preferred (but not required)

Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
