Safety Coordinator

About the role

Prefab Technology Pte Ltd is seeking an experienced and dedicated Safety Coordinator to join our team on a full-time basis. Based in the Kaki Bukit East Region, this is a pivotal role within our Health, Safety and Environment department, responsible for implementing and maintaining safety standards across our construction and prefabrication operations. The Safety Coordinator will play a crucial role in protecting our workforce, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and fostering a culture of safety excellence throughout the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor daily site activities to ensure compliance with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) legislation, regulations, and company safety policies.
• Work closely with production teams, maintenance personnel, and contractors to promote and maintain safe working practices within the precast concrete factory.
• Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards, unsafe acts, and unsafe working conditions, and recommend appropriate control measures.
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, regulatory standards, client specifications, and company safety procedures.
• Identify safety non-compliances and follow up on corrective and preventive actions to minimise workplace risks.
• Monitor and follow up on findings from safety inspections, audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
• Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near misses, and recommend measures to prevent recurrence.
• Coordinate and maintain records of safety orientations, toolbox meetings, site inspections, safety training, and other WSH-related activities.
• Conduct safety briefings and support the implementation of workplace safety training and awareness programmes.
• Prepare and maintain safety reports, statutory submissions, inspection records, and other relevant WSH documentation.
• Respond to site safety emergencies and provide support in implementing appropriate emergency response measures when required.
• Prepare and submit workplace incident reports to the relevant authorities, where required, and ensure timely reporting in accordance with statutory requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of workplace accidents, incidents, and near misses, and follow up on investigations and corrective actions

What we're looking for

• Minimum 3 years' experience in a safety coordination role within the construction or heavy manufacturing industry

• Strong knowledge of Singapore's workplace safety regulations, guidelines and best practices

• Demonstrated ability to conduct safety risk assessments and develop effective mitigation strategies

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with workers at all levels

• Proven track record of reducing workplace incidents and improving safety performance

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to continuous improvement
