Description Spang & Company has an opening for a Safety Engineer at its corporate office in Pittsburgh, PA. This position will provide leadership and oversight for all domestic environmental, health, and safety functions across locations, working in close partnership with site management at each location. This role will ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operations by aligning site execution with corporate standards and drive continuous improvement in environmental stewardship, workplace safety, and regulatory adherence.

Spang & Company is a diversified manufacturing company. Through the work of three unique product lines, we design, produce, and supply precision soft magnetic components and materials to the electronics industry and custom-engineered solutions to the power industry.

Major responsibilities will include developing and driving company-wide EHS strategies that support operational, regulatory compliance, and a strong culture of safety across multiple locations. This role will partner closely with site leadership to establish clear standards, accountability, and consistent execution of EHS programs, including compliance initiatives, industrial hygiene, contractor safety, emergency response, environmental programs, and risk reduction efforts. A bachelor’s degree in environmental health and safety, engineering, industrial management, or a related field is required, along with 7+ years’ experience in EHS within a manufacturing environment, including multi-site leadership. Candidates should have demonstrated working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory requirements, experience supporting agency inspections, and implementing corrective actions. Union environment experience a plus.
