Safety Engineer

Job Responsibilities:

1. Draft, update, and enforce safety policies and procedures tailored to mining operations.
2. Formulate a site-specific emergency response and preparedness program.
3. Conduct regular inspection of mine sites, equipment, and operations to identify hazards
4. Perform risk assessment and recommend corrective controls to mitigate workplace hazards.
5. Monitor compliance with Philippine safety standards such as DENR/MGB Mine Safety and Health Standards (e.g., DAO 2000-98) and DOLE OSH requirements.
6. Ensure safety and health permits (Safety Engineer Permit) are valid and renewed as required.
7. Provide safety orientation and training to workers (e.g., PPE use, Emergency response, and hazard reporting)
8. Investigate accidents and incident occurrences, determine root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
9. Maintain tailed safety records and progress reports.
10. Collaborate with Mine Management, Supervisors, Contractors and regulators on safety matters.
11. Communicate safety performance updates and improvement plants to stakeholders.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• A duly licensed Mining Engineer with at least 1 years supervisory experience in Mining operations and/or Mine Safety work or
• A duly licensed Engineer (other than mining) or Geologist with at least 5 years' experience in Mining Operations and/or Mine Safety work.
