Safety Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Administer the Permit-to-Work (PTW) system, including permits for hot work, working at height, lifting operations, temporary electrical installations, confined space entry, excavation, and live electrical work.
• Organize new employee safety inductions, safety training, toolbox meetings, task-specific safety briefings, and regular safety awareness campaigns.
• Conduct routine inspections of personal protective equipment (PPE), safety protection systems, scaffolding, floor openings and edge protection, temporary electrical installations, and fire protection facilities.
• Closely supervise high-risk activities, including heavy equipment lifting, installation of diesel generators and transformers, rooftop work, cable installation, and pipeline pressure testing.
• Verify the qualifications and validity of certifications for lifting equipment, lifting gear, crane operators, signalmen, and other personnel performing specialized work.
• Monitor contractors' implementation of corrective actions. Suspend unsafe work and report immediately when serious safety hazards are identified.
• Organize weekly safety inspections, special inspections, joint inspections, and Safety Committee meetings, and track the completion of corrective actions.
• Maintain records related to safety personnel, training, inspections, work permits, incidents, and special equipment management.
• Coordinate with the client's HSE department, the main contractor, local occupational safety authorities, PJK3 organizations, and emergency medical service providers.
• Organize emergency response drills for fire, electric shock, falls from height, confined space incidents, and natural disasters.
• Ensure Indonesian workers fully understand all safety requirements and assist in translating important safety documents and signage into Bahasa Indonesia.

Key Local Competencies

• Thorough understanding of Indonesian K3, SMK3, SMKK, and construction safety management regulations.
• Hold a valid Ahli K3 Umum, Ahli K3 Konstruksi, or other relevant Indonesian occupational safety certification (preferred).
• Familiar with Indonesian requirements relating to certified workers for specialized operations, lifting equipment, scaffolding, and safety training providers.
• Able to independently conduct safety training, inspections, incident investigations, and coordination with government authorities in Bahasa Indonesia.
• Previous experience in data centers, industrial facilities, large-scale MEP installation projects, or other high-risk construction projects is preferred.

Position Allocation

• Safety Engineer 1: Responsible for safety management systems, training, documentation, and client interface.
• Safety Engineer 2: Responsible for site safety inspections, high-risk work supervision, and corrective action follow-up.
