Safety Engineer

Position: Safety Engineer

Location: Rayong

Key Responsibilities

The core duties are categorized below to provide clarity on the scope of the role:

1. Process Safety Management & Compliance

Support the implementation and continuous improvement of Process Safety Management (PSM) systems.

Conduct process safety audits, compliance assessments, and field verification activities.

Ensure adherence to company standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.

2. Risk Assessment & Safety Reviews

Participate in process hazard and risk assessments, including HAZOP, HAZID, What-if Analysis, and LOPA.

Support Management of Change (MOC) reviews and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR) for projects and plant modifications.

Assess risks related to operations, maintenance, projects, and turnaround activities.

3. Incident Prevention & Emergency Preparedness

Support process safety incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.

Participate in emergency response planning, drills, and preparedness activities to prevent and mitigate major process incidents.

4. Safety Culture & Continuous Improvement

Provide process safety guidance and training to employees, contractors, and project teams.

Promote a strong process safety culture across the organization.

Lead or support process safety improvement initiatives and other assigned projects.

Qualifications and Skills

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineer or Chemical Technology
• 0-3 years in environment, sustainability, production & Operation in petrochemical industry

Technical Skills

• Process Safety Management (PSM) and Process Hazard Analysis (PHA)
• HAZOP, HAZID, What-if Analysis, LOPA, SIL, and risk assessment methodologies
• Management of Change (MOC) and Pre-Startup Safety Review (PSSR)
• Incident investigation and Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
• Process safety audits, compliance assessments, and regulatory requirements
• Knowledge of OSHA PSM, CCPS, API, NFPA, and related industry standards
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical reporting skills
