Safety Engineer

Responsibilities

1. Oversee the safety management of all vehicles in the car-carrier fleet, ensuring compliance with Indonesian local traffic regulations, K3 (Occupational Health and Safety) regulations, and company safety policies.

2. Vehicle compliance control: Supervise the validity of periodic KIR inspections, STNK, insurance, SNI/E‑mark certificates for all vehicles, ensuring that all on-road vehicles carry complete and valid documentation.

3. Conduct daily vehicle spot checks and pre-departure inspections; establish vehicle safety records; track hazard rectification and implement closed-loop management.

4. Monitor the GPS/onboard camera platform to manage driver behaviors including speeding, fatigue driving, and unauthorized route deviations; manage driver working hours and implement the Journey Management Plan (JMP).

5. Driver safety management: Verify the validity of driver SIM licenses; organize defensive driving training, car-carrier loading safety training, and typhoon/rainy season emergency training; conduct pre-shift safety briefings (Toolbox Meetings).

6. Investigate traffic accidents and vehicle damage incidents, perform root cause analysis, issue accident reports, and formulate corrective and preventive measures.

7. Coordinate with repair shops and suppliers; track vehicle breakdowns, abnormal tire wear, chassis/battery pack impact issues, and maintain repair records.

8. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly safety reports; submit safety-related reports to management and Indonesian regulatory authorities; prepare documentation for government safety inspections and audits.

9. Organize emergency drills: vehicle fire response, traffic accident handling, and severe weather emergency procedures; identify risk points along transport routes.

10. Complete other safety management tasks assigned by superiors.

11. Education: College degree (D3) or above; majors in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Logistics/Transportation, or Safety Engineering are preferred.

12. Work Experience: 3–5 years of experience in fleet/logistics vehicle safety management. Experience in car‑carrier or heavy‑truck fleet management is preferred. Familiarity with Indonesian road transport operations is required.

13. Certifications: Hold an Indonesian AK3U (Ahli K3 Umum – General Occupational Safety Expert) certificate; hold a valid SIM A or SIM B driving license; a Defensive Driving Training certificate is preferred.

14. Languages: Fluent in Indonesian; basic English reading and writing skills to understand technical equipment documents; Chinese proficiency is a plus (for coordinating with the Chinese management team).

15. Technical Skills: Proficient in Excel, capable of establishing safety records and performing data statistics; understand the basic structure of heavy trucks and car‑carrier trailers; able to use GPS vehicle tracking systems.

16. Knowledge of Indonesian Regulations: Familiar with the K3 Occupational Safety Law, Road Traffic Law, KIR periodic vehicle inspection, STNK, insurance, and SNI mandatory certification requirements.

17. Personal Attributes: Strong risk identification and accident investigation capabilities; excellent communication and coordination skills; meticulous and detail‑oriented; willing to work on rotating shifts to handle nighttime vehicle alarm incidents.
