Safety Engineer

We are looking for a qualified and experienced Safety Engineer to join our contracting company. The Safety Engineer will be responsible for implementing and monitoring health, safety, and environmental (HSE) procedures across construction sites, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, company policies, and project requirements.

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of construction safety practices, excellent site supervision skills, and the ability to identify and control workplace hazards.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor the company's HSE policies, procedures, and safety standards at construction sites.
• Conduct regular site inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments.
• Identify potential hazards and recommend appropriate corrective and preventive measures.
• Ensure compliance with applicable local HSE regulations, client requirements, and project safety standards.
• Prepare and review Risk Assessments, Method Statements, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and other HSE documentation.
• Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and HSE training for employees and subcontractors.
• Monitor safe working practices, including work at height, lifting operations, excavation, scaffolding, electrical work, hot work, and confined-space activities.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions and prepare appropriate reports.
• Maintain HSE records, inspection reports, incident reports, and other safety documentation.
• Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, and consultants regarding safety matters.
• Ensure workers use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and follow established safe work procedures.
• Monitor emergency preparedness and participate in emergency drills.
• Follow up on corrective actions and ensure unsafe conditions are addressed promptly.
• Provide regular HSE reports and recommendations to project management.
• Promote a strong safety culture and continuously improve site safety performance.
