Safety Engineer

Job Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and site requirements.
• Conduct regular site inspections and identify unsafe acts and conditions.
• Prepare and review Risk Assessments, JSA/JHA and Method Statements.
• Monitor Permit to Work (PTW) activities and ensure compliance with site requirements.
• Conduct Toolbox Talks, safety inductions and HSE awareness sessions.
• Monitor high-risk activities including lifting, hot work, work at height, excavation, confined space and mechanical works.
• Investigate incidents, near misses and unsafe occurrences and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare HSE reports, inspection reports and maintain required safety records.
• Coordinate with Project Management, Supervisors and workers to ensure safe working practices.
• Participate in client and internal HSE audits and follow up on corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with applicable UAE, client and project HSE requirements.
• Promote a strong safety culture across project sites.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Safety Engineering, or a relevant field.
• 5–8 years of relevant experience in Construction / Oil & Gas.
• Experience in mechanical construction, piping, fabrication, welding and lifting activities is preferred.
• Previous ADNOC project experience is highly preferred.
• NEBOSH IGC or equivalent HSE qualification is required.
• IOSH / OSHA or other recognized HSE certifications are an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of PTW, Risk Assessment, JSA/JHA, Toolbox Talks and Incident Investigation.
• Good communication and reporting skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage site HSE activities.
• UAE driving license is preferred.
• Willingness to work at project sites in Abu Dhabi.
