Safety Engineer

About the role

Site Safety Supervisor role requiring supervision of construction site safety, hazard identification, and implementation of occupational safety and health requirements on construction projects.

Key responsibilities

• Proactively identify safety risks on site and clearly communicate non-compliance
• Ensure effective implementation and closure of corrective actions
• Conduct hazard identification, HIRARC, permit-to-work control, and work-at-height safety assessments
• Manage lifting safety, electrical safety, LOTO, incident investigation and emergency response
• Prepare daily and weekly safety reports, inspection records, training records, and incident reports
• Coordinate with project teams, subcontractors, client representatives, workers and local authorities
• Ensure compliance with Malaysian occupational safety and health requirements and DOSH/JKKP requirements

About you

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Safety Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering or another relevant discipline
• Valid DOSH/JKKP registration as a Site Safety Supervisor (SSS) ,commonly referred to as the SSS Yellow Book.- mandatory requirement
• Minimum five (5) years of relevant experience in construction site safety supervision
• Familiar with Malaysian occupational safety and health requirements, DOSH/JKKP requirements, construction safety practices and structured site EHS management systems
• Strong knowledge of hazard identification, HIRARC, permit-to-work control, work-at-height safety, lifting safety, electrical safety, LOTO, incident investigation and emergency response
• Able to work independently on site
• Strong communication, coordination and enforcement skills
• Able to prepare daily and weekly safety reports, inspection records, training records, incident reports and other EHS documentation in a clear, accurate and professional manner
• Proficiency in English is required
