Safety Manager
An exciting opportunity for a Safety Manager to join a long established, privately owned Australian industrial operations business. This is a genuine operational safety role for someone who enjoys being visible in the business, working alongside managers and frontline teams, solving problems and delivering practical safety improvements. Following significant growth and transformation, the business has evolved into a diversified industrial organisation that continues to invest in technology, Australian manufacturing and its people, while maintaining a strong family business culture. Reporting to the Head of HR, you will lead safety across the organisation and play a key role in influencing safety strategy, culture and performance.
The Role
Working closely with operational leaders, you will:
- Provide visible WHS leadership across multiple sites
- Conduct inspections, audits and risk assessments
- Lead incident investigations and corrective actions
- Drive continuous improvement of safety systems and processes
- Support managers with safe work practices, SOPs and toolbox talks
- Oversee safety training, inductions and competency requirements
- Monitor legislative compliance and provide practical WHS advice
- Lead WHS improvement initiatives and projects
- Manage two safety team members
- Provide safety reporting and insights to the executive team and Board
About You
You may already be an experienced Safety Manager, or a Senior Safety Advisor ready to step into a leadership role.
You will ideally bring:
- WHS qualifications or equivalent
- Experience in manufacturing, recycling, heavy industry, logistics, mining or another high-risk environment
- Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, risk management and safety systems
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
- A practical, hands on approach with strong operational credibility
- The ability to build trust, challenge appropriately and drive outcomes
Why Join?
This is an opportunity to join a financially stable, growing Australian business where safety is genuinely valued and supported by ownership.
You will enjoy:
- Direct exposure to executive leadership and the Board
- The opportunity to influence safety strategy nationally
- Exposure to major operational growth and change initiatives
- The ability to shape the next stage of the organisation's safety journey
