Safety Officer

Responsibilities

Conduct daily site safety inspections and hazard identification.

Develop and implement Job Hazard Analyses (JHA) and Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS).

Ensure compliance with local regulations, client requirements, and international HSE standards.

Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and training sessions for site personnel.

Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses and prepare reports.

Monitor use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and enforce safety rules.

Maintain safety documentation, logs, and statistical records.

Coordinate emergency response plans and conduct drills.

Identify unsafe acts and conditions and initiate corrective actions.

Liaise with client HSE representatives and regulatory authorities.

Review and approve work permits (hot work, confined space, working at height, etc.).

Participate in safety audits and management reviews.
