Safety Officer

Health & Safety Officer Role & Responsibilities

• Monitor site safety practices and ensure compliance with applicable health and safety standards.
• Conduct regular site inspections to identify hazards, unsafe conditions, and potential risks.
• Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and other safety equipment.
• Conduct regular toolbox talks, safety briefings, and awareness sessions for site teams.
• Assist in maintaining safety records, inspection reports, incident reports, and other HSE documentation.
• Support the implementation and monitoring of health and safety procedures at project sites.
• Coordinate with site teams to address safety concerns and corrective actions promptly.
• Assist in investigating incidents, near misses, and unsafe practices, where required.
• Promote a strong safety culture and encourage safe working practices among employees and contractors.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Diploma or Degree in Safety, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, or a related field.

• Relevant experience in interior projects, exhibitions, construction, fit-out, or other project sites will be an advantage.

• Good communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills.

• Strong observation and hazard-identification skills.

• Good knowledge of basic site safety practices, risk assessment, PPE, and safe work procedures.

• Ability to work effectively with site teams, contractors, and project management.

• Candidates with the following certifications will be preferred:

• NEBOSH

• ISO 14001:2015 EMS Auditor / Lead Auditor

• Other equivalent HSE/Safety certifications.
