Job Overview

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Safety Officer to champion workplace safety and environmental health initiatives across our manufacturing facilities. Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety policies aligned with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards, environmental management systems, and hazardous materials regulations.
• Conduct regular safety inspections, hazard assessments, and workplace audits to identify potential risks and ensure compliance with environmental health regulations.
• Lead safety training sessions focused on workplace safety, hazard communication, emergency response procedures, first aid, CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), and OSHA compliance standards.
• Investigate incidents and accidents through root cause analysis to determine underlying issues and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Maintain detailed reports on safety performance, incident investigations, compliance audits, and training activities; prepare documentation for regulatory agencies as required.
• Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials in accordance with EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) regulations and hazardous materials regulations.
• Collaborate with management to develop emergency response plans and conduct drills to test readiness for various scenarios involving environmental or workplace hazards.
• Stay current on evolving environmental regulatory compliance standards and occupational health laws to ensure ongoing adherence across all operations.

Experience

• Proven experience in manufacturing environments or industrial settings with a strong understanding of workplace safety practices.
• Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA regulations, environmental regulatory compliance, hazardous materials regulations, and environmental management systems.
• Familiarity with workers' compensation law and employee health regulatory compliance standards.
• Experience conducting risk assessments, root cause analysis, report writing, and safety audits.
• Certifications such as First Aid, CPR, OSHA Safety Certification, or equivalent are highly preferred.
• Strong background in environmental health principles related to occupational health expertise and environmental compliance management.
• Excellent communication skills for delivering training sessions and preparing detailed reports on safety performance.
