Safety Practitioner

About the role

Net Pacific, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Safety Practitioner to join our team in Taguig City, Metro Manila. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing our health, safety, and environmental standards across our construction operations. As a Safety Practitioner, you will be instrumental in creating a culture of safety excellence throughout the organisation, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, and protecting the wellbeing of our workforce and stakeholders.

What you'll be doing

• Developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive health and safety policies, procedures, and programmes aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements
• Conducting regular site inspections and audits to identify hazards, assess risks, and ensure compliance with safety standards
• Investigating accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and implement corrective and preventive measures
• Providing safety training and induction programmes to all employees, contractors, and subcontractors
• Monitoring and maintaining safety records, documentation, and reporting systems to track performance metrics and trends
• Collaborating with project teams and management to develop and execute safe work method statements (SWMS) and site-specific safety plans
• Promoting a proactive safety culture through toolbox talks, safety awareness campaigns, and employee engagement initiatives
• Liaising with regulatory authorities and third-party agencies regarding safety compliance and certifications
• Managing personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements and ensuring proper usage across all work areas
• Maintaining emergency response procedures and coordinating with emergency services when necessary

What we're looking for

• A recognized qualification or certification in Occupational Health and Safety (such as IOSH, NEBOSH, or equivalent local certification)
• Has a Valid License as a Safety Practitioner
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Safety Practitioner or Safety Head, preferably within the construction industry
• In-depth knowledge of health and safety legislation, regulations, and standards applicable to construction work in the Philippines
• Strong understanding of hazard identification, risk assessment, and risk control methodologies
• Proven experience in developing and implementing safety management systems and programmed
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence people at all levels
• Proficiency in incident investigation and root cause analysis
• Competence in safety training delivery and toolbox talk facilitation
• Proficiency with computer systems and safety management software
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records and documentation
• Physical capability to conduct site inspections and work in various construction environments
• Preferred experience with ISO 45001 or similar occupational health and safety management systems
