About the role

KONE Pte Ltd is seeking a Safety Specialist to join our team in Bangkok on a full-time basis. This is a critical role within our Health, Safety & Environment function, where you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining safety programmes across our operations. The Safety Specialist will play a vital role in ensuring that KONE maintains the highest safety standards, protects our workforce, and complies with all relevant regulations in the mining, resources and energy sector. Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive safety policies, procedures, and programmes aligned with industry standards and local regulatory requirements
• Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments across all operational areas to identify hazards and implement corrective actions
• Provide safety training and induction programmes to employees at all levels, ensuring awareness and compliance with safety protocols
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and recommend preventative measures
• Monitor and analyse safety performance metrics, prepare reports, and present findings to senior management
• Liaise with regulatory authorities and external safety consultants to ensure compliance with legislation and best practice standards
• Promote a strong safety culture through engagement initiatives, toolbox talks, and safety committees
• Maintain accurate safety records, documentation, and evidence of compliance activities
• Support the development and maintenance of emergency response procedures and crisis management protocols

What we're looking for

• A relevant qualification in Health and Safety, Occupational Safety and Health (OSHE), or equivalent professional certification such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent
• 3–5 years of professional experience in a safety role, preferably within the mining, resources, energy, or heavy industrial sectors
• Demonstrable knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation, regulations, and compliance requirements applicable to Thailand and the Asia-Pacific region
• Strong understanding of hazard identification, risk assessment, and risk management methodologies
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with employees at all organisational levels
• Proficiency in conducting safety audits, investigations, and producing detailed reports
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with safety management systems and software
• Ability to work independently whilst collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
• Fluency in English (spoken and written); knowledge of Thai language is advantageous
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to continuous improvement
