SAFETY SPECIALIST

At SANY , we are a global leader in heavy machinery and construction equipment. We are expanding our team in Guyana and looking for a dedicated Safety Specialist to join our SANY HSE team and drive a strong culture of workplace health, safety, and environmental excellence.

Role Overview:

The Safety Specialist will be responsible for developing, executing, and monitoring HSE policies across field and workshop operations in Guyana. This role ensures full compliance with local regulations and SANY corporate standards while fostering a safe and compliant working environment.

Key Responsibilities / Responsabilidades clave:

• Policy & Program Execution: Develop, implement, and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and programs across field and workshop operations.
• Inspections & Investigations: Conduct regular workplace inspections, perform risk assessments, and lead incident investigations, ensuring all corrective actions are promptly implemented.
• Training & Compliance: Deliver safety training sessions and toolbox talks to technicians and operators, ensuring proper use and maintenance of PPE.
• Reporting & KPIs: Prepare detailed HSE reports, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and maintain strict compliance with local Guyanese safety regulations and corporate guidelines.

Requirements / Requisitos:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree or technical degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related fields.
• Experience: 2+ years of experience as a Safety Specialist or HSE Officer. Previous experience in heavy equipment, construction, mining, or industrial environments is highly preferred.
• Knowledge: Solid expertise in occupational safety regulations, risk management protocols, and incident investigation methodologies.
• Certifications (A Plus): Safety certifications such as NEBOSH, OSHA, or equivalent certifications are a plus.
