Safety Supervisor

About the role

The Safety Supervisor is responsible for supporting the day-to-day implementation of site safety, health and environmental requirements on site. This role works closely with the project team and Registered Safety Officer to monitor frontline activities, enforce safe work practices and ensure workers, subcontractors and site operations comply with statutory, contractual and project safety requirements.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Carry out daily site safety inspections and routine monitoring of work fronts, access routes, housekeeping conditions and work practices.
• Supervise frontline safety performance of workers, subcontractors and plant operators, and stop or report unsafe acts and unsafe conditions immediately.
• Support implementation of risk assessments, method statements, permit-to-work controls and site safety procedures.
• Monitor high-risk activities such as lifting operations, hot works, work at height, temporary electrical works, demolition, weekend works and testing activities.
• Check that workers have attended site induction, received task briefing and use proper personal protective equipment before work starts.
• Assist in conducting toolbox talks, safety briefings, site rules communication and safety promotion activities.
• Follow up rectification of safety observations, inspection findings and outstanding hazard control actions.
• Maintain daily safety records, inspection checklists, attendance records, permit logs and photo records where required.
• Coordinate with engineers, foremen, subcontractors and the safety team on work sequence risks, access restrictions and control measures.
• Support fire prevention measures, material storage control, housekeeping standards and emergency preparedness on site.

What We’re Looking For

• Holder of valid safety supervisor training certificates applicable in Hong Kong.
• Holder of a valid Green Card.
• Relevant experience in construction site safety supervision, preferably in building, MEP, E&M or contractor-side projects.
• Familiar with site inspection routines, hazard identification and practical safety enforcement.
• Good understanding of construction activities, subcontractor coordination and site rules.
• Responsible, firm and proactive, with good communication and follow-up skills.
• Able to work independently and respond quickly to changing site conditions.
• Good command of spoken Cantonese and basic written Chinese and English for reporting.

Preferred

· Experience in data centre, major MEP, E&M or fast-track projects.

· Familiarity with safety supervision during testing and commissioning, energization, lifting operations and restricted work areas.

· Experience in maintaining daily site records and supporting formal safety reporting.
