JOB DESCRIPTION: SAFETY SUPERVISOR

1. Position Overview

• Position Title: Safety Supervisor
• Department: Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE)
• Work Location: Reliance Refinery Complex, Jamnagar, Gujarat
• Employment Type: Full-Time
• Reporting To: HSE Manager

2. Responsibilities

• Daily Site Safety & Inspections: Conduct rigorous routine safety inspections across all active plant areas, construction sites, and turnaround zones to identify unsafe acts and unsafe conditions.
• Permit to Work (PTW) Enforcement: Strictly monitor and verify compliance with the Permit to Work system, ensuring high-risk activities (such as hot work, confined space entry, working at heights, and heavy lifting) have valid isolations, gas tests, and mitigation measures.
• Toolbox Talks & Safety Briefings: Lead pre-shift safety briefings, Toolbox Talks (TBT), and Job Safety Analyses (JSA) with contractor workforces and site supervisors.
• Incident Prevention & Investigation: Participate in Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA), root cause analysis for near-misses and incidents, and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
• PPE & Safety Equipment Audits: Ensure workers strictly use mandated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) compliant with relevant standards (e.g., IS/EN safety shoes, hard hats, harnesses) and inspect safety gear like tripods, blowers, and firefighting equipment.
• Statutory Compliance: Ensure all site operations strictly adhere to the Factories Act, BOCW Act, and relevant statutory safety norms alongside internal refinery safety guidelines.
• Reporting: Assist in generating Daily Safety Performance Reports (DSPR), tracking safety observations, and maintaining compliance documentation.

3. Candidate Requirements

• Qualifications: Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety (ADIS) or Post Diploma in Industrial Safety (PDIS).
• Experience: Minimum 4 years of hands-on industrial safety experience.
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication, strong site patrolling discipline, ability to handle contractor labor safety, and firmness in enforcing safety standards.

4. Compensation & Application Details

• Salary Range: 30,000 40,000 per month (Negotiable based on experience and interview performance)
