About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Sales Assistant to join our team at our Ipoh Perak location. This is a full-time position where you will play a key part in delivering outstanding customer service and driving sales within our retail environment. As a Sales Assistant, you will be the face of Manjoy Gadget Malaysia, ensuring every customer interaction is positive and productive. This role is essential to our business success and provides an excellent opportunity to develop your retail career within a dynamic and growing company.

What you'll be doing

• Welcoming customers as they enter the store and providing a warm, friendly greeting
• Assisting customers in locating products and providing product information to help them make informed purchasing decisions
• Demonstrating gadgets and technology products to customers, highlighting key features and benefits
• Processing sales transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system
• Handling cash, card payments, and other payment methods with accuracy and integrity
• Maintaining a clean, organised and visually appealing sales floor and display areas
• Restocking shelves and ensuring product availability and proper pricing
• Answering customer enquiries regarding product specifications, warranties, and after-sales support
• Identifying customer needs and recommending appropriate products to enhance their shopping experience
• Supporting the team with inventory management and stock taking activities
• Maintaining awareness of current promotions, special offers and new product launches
• Building positive relationships with customers to encourage repeat business and loyalty

What we're looking for

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification
• Proven retail or customer service experience, preferably in electronics or gadgets retail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse customers
• Strong numerical skills and accuracy when handling transactions and cash
• Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment and manage multiple customer interactions simultaneously
• Familiarity with basic technology products and gadgets, or willingness to learn quickly
• Reliability and punctuality with a strong work ethic
• Team player mentality with the ability to support colleagues and contribute to a positive work environment
• Basic proficiency with computer systems and point-of-sale software
• Customer-focused approach with genuine enthusiasm for helping people
• Fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia is essential; additional languages are advantageous
