What they need

We are looking for a detail-oriented, proactive and ambitious Sales Administrator / Junior Estimator to join our growing team.

This is a varied role combining customer service, sales administration, quotation preparation, estimating support and job coordination. You will play an important part in managing the customer journey from initial enquiry through to quotation, order and delivery, ensuring customers receive a professional and efficient service throughout.

Working closely with our Sales Team, Estimator/Buyer and Project Manager, you will prepare quotations for a range of signage, print, joinery and other products, support the pricing of larger projects and coordinate non-project work through to completion.

You will also have the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing development of our internal systems and processes, particularly SimPro, our job management and CRM system. We are looking for someone who is keen to learn, enjoys finding better ways of working and wants to play an active role in helping shape the future of DAW as the business continues to grow.

The role would suit someone who is highly organised, confident communicating with customers and colleagues, comfortable working with figures and keen to develop their commercial and estimating skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage incoming customer enquiries by telephone and through the sales inbox, ensuring all enquiries are responded to promptly and professionally.
  • Take ownership of the customer journey from initial enquiry through to quotation, order and delivery, keeping customers informed throughout.
  • Prepare and issue quotations for a range of signage, print, joinery and other products, ensuring pricing and specifications are accurate.
  • Assist with estimating and preparing quotations for larger project work, liaising with the Sales Director and Project Manager to ensure all relevant requirements and costs are included.
  • Review customer requirements, specifications and pricing information to support accurate and competitive quotations.
  • Liaise with customers to understand their requirements, provide product information, answer queries and resolve issues.
  • Process sales orders accurately and ensure all relevant information is recorded and communicated to the appropriate teams.
  • Schedule and coordinate non-project work, ensuring jobs are planned effectively and progressed through to completion.
  • Monitor stock levels for regularly supplied items and materials, identifying when stock is running low and flagging purchasing requirements to the Buyer.
  • Work closely with production, design, installation, purchasing and project teams to ensure customer requirements are delivered efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate customer, quotation and job records, ensuring all relevant documentation is kept up to date and organised.
  • Assist with coordinating deliveries and keeping customers informed of progress and timescales.
  • Identify and follow up outstanding quotations and customer enquiries to help progress opportunities and secure orders.
  • Support the ongoing development of SimPro by identifying opportunities to improve system use, workflows, reporting and administrative processes.
  • Contribute ideas and work with colleagues to improve internal processes, efficiency and the overall customer experience.
  • Provide general administrative support to the Sales Team and Project Manager as required.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience in sales administration, estimating, customer service, coordination or a similar role.
  • Strong numerical skills and confidence working with figures, pricing and calculations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel. Experience with CRM, estimating or job management software is advantageous.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple enquiries, quotations and deadlines simultaneously.
  • A proactive approach, with the confidence to take ownership of tasks and see them through to completion.
  • A willingness to learn, develop new skills and take on additional responsibilities as the role evolves.
  • An interest in systems, technology and process improvement, with the confidence to suggest ideas and help implement better ways of working.
  • The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues across the business.
  • A customer-focused approach, with the ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Previous experience within signage, manufacturing, construction, interiors or a similar industry would be beneficial but is not essential.

This is an opportunity to join a growing business in a role that offers variety, responsibility and scope for development. Alongside building your sales administration and estimating skills, you will have the opportunity to contribute ideas, help improve our systems and processes, and play a part in how DAW develops its ways of working.

We are looking for someone who wants to do more than simply complete a list of tasks. The right person will be curious, motivated to improve and keen to develop alongside the business.

If you are organised, commercially minded and enjoy working with customers, figures and systems, we would love to hear from you.
