Sales & Customer Coordinator, SK Scaffold

Location: Silverdale, Auckland. Work from home most days, with regular days at our Silverdale office and Dairy Flat warehouse. You’ll need to live on the Hibiscus Coast, the North Shore or in Rodney, close enough to come in regularly. We can’t consider applicants from further away, even with the work from home days.

Work type: Casual. Hours are agreed in advance and vary with demand.

Pay: $29 to $33 per hour, with the possibility of commission as the role develops.

SK Scaffold is growing, and we’re looking for a sharp, switched on person to grow with us. We’ve built our own online quoting tool, one of the first in the market, and we need someone to get it in front of builders and turn that interest into booked work.

You’ll be calling builders and construction companies about work they have coming up and quoting the job. Once it’s confirmed, you’ll book it in, organise the crew, invoice it and see it through to completion. The role is an even split between selling and getting the detail right.

For the right person who’s bringing in work, we’re open to adding commission on the jobs you win.

SK Scaffold is part of the Space King group, a Kiwi owned business that’s been going for 15 years across portable buildings, scaffolding and site accommodation. SK Scaffold is our Auckland scaffolding company. We work across residential and commercial jobs, re-roofs, extensions, new builds, and civil and council projects. We also do shrink wrap, edge protection and safety checks, sell scaffolding products through our website, and run a warehouse at Dairy Flat.

What you’ll be doing

• Calling builders, contractors and developers to find upcoming projects
• Building and keeping relationships with existing and past clients
• Preparing and issuing quotes through our online quoting tool, and showing builders how to use it themselves
• Following up quotes and closing work, including getting written acceptance or a purchase order
• Keeping your pipeline up to date and reporting on quotes, wins and losses
• Booking confirmed jobs, organising the crew and keeping customers updated
• Confirming variations in writing
• Invoicing and following up payments
• Handling online product sales, orders and payments

What you’ll need

• Sales experience, ideally business to business, and a track record of turning enquiries or quotes into booked work
• Comfort making outbound calls to businesses that haven’t heard from us yet, as this is a big part of the role
• Confidence on the phone with business owners and decision makers
• Accuracy, organisation and sound admin skills
• Experience with business systems such as CRM, quoting or accounting software (we’ll train you on ours, Tradify and Xero)
• Good Excel skills
• The ability to work independently and manage your own workload
• A home base on the Hibiscus Coast, the North Shore or in Rodney, close enough to come in to Silverdale regularly

Nice to have

Experience selling to builders, contractors or trades, or a background in scaffolding, hire, merchants, tools or building supplies. If you’ve done similar selling in another industry, we’d still like to hear from you.

Hours

This role is casual, with hours agreed in advance and varying with what’s on. Your rate will be reviewed as the role develops, and we’re open to talking about commission.
