Careers at Tidyco

A Derby engineering company spanning rail, fluid power, climate control and electrical — where apprentices become engineers, engineers become specialists, and the work is genuinely varied because the business is.

Why Tidyco

Why people stay

• Seven trades under one roof

Hydraulics, pneumatics, hose repair, rail, climate control, electrical and tube bending — engineers here get exposure most single-discipline firms can't offer.

• Apprenticeships that lead somewhere

Tidyco has trained apprentices for years — some of the people who started that way now run departments. Development is normal here, not a perk.

• A company that shows up

STEM outreach in local schools, charity fundraising, and a Queen's Award for Voluntary Service among our people — Derby is home, and it shows.

• Stability you can build on

Over 50 years in the city and seven divisions — a business with the roots and the scale to still be here for a whole career, not a start-up gamble.

Where you'd work

Three very different working days

Nearly everything we make is made in Derby, and nearly everything we fit is fitted on a customer's site. Which of those your week looks like depends on the role.

The Derby workshops

Unit 2 at Pentagon Island: hose and pipe assemblies, power-pack build, tube bending and the Parker Store counter. Benches, callipers and a job that's finished when it's right.

Unit 6, the overhaul floor

The purpose-built rail overhaul facility we moved into in 2021, a few doors from the main site. Rolling stock components come in worn and leave tested, certified and fit for another life.

Out on customers' sites

Hose Doctor call-outs, HVAC installs, electrical work and servicing. A van, a region and somebody's plant standing still until you get there.

Where you'd fit

The kinds of roles we hire

Live vacancies are shared when they open — but good engineers are worth hearing from any time. If the work below sounds like yours, get in touch.

Sales & customer support

Technical sales, the in-house call centre and account support across the divisions.
