What they need
An opportunity at the forefront of London's wedding scene
Meridian Grand is a purpose-built luxury wedding and events venue in North London. We hosted over 300 events last year across London's cultural wedding market: Pakistani, Nigerian, Somali, Bengali, Tamil, Gujarati, Punjabi, Jewish, Turkish, Afghani and many more, including mixed-heritage celebrations, each with its own traditions and expectations.
We offer it all ourselves: venue hire, in-house catering, décor by Midnight Garden Events and event management sit under one roof, so a family can arrange their whole wedding with one team. Our sales team's job is to show every family what that looks like.
The role in one sentence
You take an enquiry from a client planning the most important day of their lives and turn it into a confirmed booking, with the venue, catering and décor all arranged by Meridian Grand.
What the job looks like
- Enquiries. Reply the same day by phone, email, WhatsApp and the website, and find out what the family actually want.
- Viewings. Show families the building and help them picture their wedding in the room.
- Proposals and contracts. Write the proposal, follow it up, handle the negotiation, contract the booking and keep payments on schedule with our accounts team.
- The whole wedding. Arrange food tastings, décor consultations and lighting, and make the case for each. Families who book venue, catering and décor together have the best experience, and that is where our commission pays most.
- Handover. Hand confirmed bookings to our Events team with everything they need. While post-sale planning moves across to Events, you will keep oversight of your own bookings.
- Proactive sales. Create new sales opportunities, network, follow up past enquiries, work with returning families and attend wedding shows.
- Take responsibility and ownership. Own the events at the venue, including chasing clients for payments, rescheduling events and anything to do with the smooth running of the venue.
What we need from you
You can sell, and you enjoy it. The role carries a monthly and annual target. You are comfortable talking about money with a family making a large, emotional decision, and you build trust before you close. A minimum of two years' sales experience is essential.
You are fast and extremely organised. Families are usually talking to other venues at the same time. Quick replies and disciplined follow-up win bookings, and you will be running a busy pipeline at every stage at once.
You can work when the work is. Many families can only view in the evening or at the weekend, and that is when our weddings happen. Evening and weekend work is an essential part of the job.
What we care about
No formal qualification is needed. We care about attitude, ownership of your numbers and a record you can point to, whether in weddings, hospitality or something else entirely.
Experience in the following areas is highly beneficial to the role:
- Working in events
- Working with luxury products
- Any of the following languages or relevant cultural experience: Urdu, Punjabi, Bengali, Tamil, Gujarati, Turkish
What you get
- Base salary of £32,000 to £36,000 depending on experience
- On-target earnings of £66,000 to £70,000 through commission and team bonuses, with more available above target
- Complimentary lunch on most working days, pension, employee assistance programme and weekly yoga on site
- An extra day of annual leave after two years' service
- Structured induction and training
Applications close on Monday 26 October 2026. If you have not heard from us within two weeks of that date, please take it that we have not taken your application further on this occasion.
Pay: £32,000.00-£36,000.00 per year

- Company events
- Company pension
- Discounted or free food

Application question(s):
- In your current or most recent sales role: what did you sell, what was your personal target (the figure, what it measured and over what period, e.g. “£80,000 of booked revenue per month”), and what was a typical sale worth? We will discuss these figures at interview and may confirm them with your references.
- Over the last 12 months in that role, how often did you hit or beat your target?
- Are you comfortable working evenings and weekends?
