Sales & Operations Coordinator

Our client, Island Stone | The Natural Stone Co is a growing Tauranga business specialising in high-end natural stone products. Working with architects, designers, stonemasons, retailers, commercial clients and homeowners across New Zealand, the team is passionate about delivering quality products and exceptional service.
 
As part of this small, close-knit team, you’ll be the go-to person helping keep customers, sales and day-to-day operations running smoothly.
 
About the role
 
This is a role with plenty of variety. One minute you could be helping a customer choose a product, the next preparing a quote, arranging freight, checking stock or getting samples ready for the showroom.
 
You’ll have the opportunity to learn the business, work across different areas and take on more responsibility as your knowledge grows.
 
Your day-to-day will include: 

• Responding to phone, email and walk-in enquiries
• Building relationships with customers, architects, designers and trade clients
• Preparing quotes, pricing, invoices and sales orders
• Processing purchase orders and assisting with stock procurement
• Coordinating freight, deliveries and order tracking
• Preparing basic plan take-offs and supporting project coordination
• Managing product samples and showroom presentation
• Maintaining accurate records and sales administration
• Supporting the wider office, warehouse and business as needed
• Assisting with marketing and other projects

You’ll work across fabrication, cladding, tiles and the Island Stone range, giving you plenty of opportunity to learn and broaden your skills.
 
About you

• Adaptable and comfortable with changing priorities

• Willing to learn and comfortable picking up technical information
• Positive, practical and happy to pitch in
• Someone who takes pride in doing things well

You’ll also ideally bring:

• Experience in customer service, sales support or administration
• Confidence with Excel and Microsoft Office
• Xero or similar accounting software experience would be advantageous
• CRM experience would be useful
• Construction, design or interiors experience would be a bonus, but isn’t essential

Attitude, initiative and a willingness to learn are just as important as experience.
