What they need
Sales & Project Coordinator
Company: Designers Marble
Compensation: Commission-Based | Expected Annual Earnings: $60,000–$100,000
Schedule: Flexible | Typically 4 Days Per Week in Office
Reports To: General Manager
Position Overview
Designers Marble is seeking a highly organized, motivated Sales & Project Coordinator to manage customer opportunities from initial inquiry through the sales process and assist with the coordination of sold projects.
The primary focus of this position is sales and closing new business. Success requires strong communication, consistent follow-up, attention to detail, and the ability to stay organized while managing multiple customers and projects at different stages.
The Sales & Project Coordinator will report directly to and work closely with the General Manager. This person will be expected to take ownership of their responsibilities while maintaining clear communication and visibility into sales activity, outstanding tasks, and project progress.
Because our customers are homeowners, flexibility is important. Customer communication and sales follow-up will regularly need to occur outside traditional business hours, including evenings and weekends, based on customer availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow up consistently with new and existing sales leads
- Communicate with prospective and existing customers by phone, text, and email
- Maintain the flexibility to communicate with customers during evenings and weekends when needed
- Build customer relationships and guide prospective clients through the sales process
- Convert qualified opportunities into signed projects
- Prepare accurate, professional customer proposals
- Consistently follow up on outstanding proposals and opportunities
- Book customer appointments and maintain accurate calendars
- Coordinate scheduling for sold projects
- Assist with project management from sale through completion
- Coordinate and procure materials required for upcoming projects
- Maintain accurate records of customer communication, follow-ups, appointments, proposals, and project requirements
- Work closely with the General Manager to communicate sales activity, project status, priorities, and potential issues
- Communicate effectively with customers, office staff, installers, vendors, and management
- Identify missing information or potential problems before they impact a customer's project
Organization, Tracking & Accountability
A major component of this position is the ability to create and maintain an effective personal system for organization and accountability.
There are not pre-established checklists for every responsibility within this role. The Sales & Project Coordinator will be expected to develop their own checklists, tracking methods, and routines to ensure responsibilities are completed consistently and nothing is overlooked.
The employee will be expected to:
- Create and maintain checklists for recurring responsibilities and processes
- Develop an organized system for tracking leads, follow-ups, proposals, projects, and outstanding tasks
- Consistently use the systems they create rather than relying on memory
- Track both completed and outstanding tasks
- Be able to clearly demonstrate what has been accomplished
- Provide the General Manager with visibility into current priorities, completed work, and items requiring follow-up
- Continually improve their organizational processes as the position develops
The goal is not simply to stay busy, but to maintain a clear, organized, and accountable workflow that produces measurable results.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate combines strong sales ability with exceptional organization and personal accountability.
This position requires someone who can take ownership of a lead or project, determine what needs to happen next, document those steps, and consistently follow through until completion.
The successful candidate should demonstrate:
- Strong sales and closing ability
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Consistent and persistent follow-up
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Self-motivation and the ability to work independently
- Ability to create effective systems, checklists, and processes
- Ability to document and demonstrate completed work
- Comfort managing multiple customers, projects, and deadlines simultaneously
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Professional and personable customer service
- Willingness to take ownership of responsibilities and outcomes
- Ability to work closely and communicate effectively with the General Manager
- Willingness to maintain a flexible schedule based on customer needs
Schedule & Work Environment
This position will typically work in the office four days per week.
The Sales & Project Coordinator is expected to manage their schedule with flexibility based on the needs and availability of customers. Some customer communication, sales follow-up, and appointment coordination will need to occur during evenings and weekends.
This position requires someone who can manage that flexibility responsibly while ensuring leads receive timely responses and consistent follow-up.
Compensation
This is a commission-based position with expected annual earnings of approximately $60,000–$100,000, depending on sales performance.
Compensation is designed to reward strong sales performance and the successful conversion of qualified opportunities into completed projects.
Success in This Position
Success will be measured through a combination of sales performance, follow-through, organization, project coordination, and accountability.
A successful Sales & Project Coordinator will:
- Consistently follow up with qualified leads
- Convert opportunities into signed projects
- Keep proposals and customer communication moving forward
- Maintain accurate and current records
- Create and consistently use effective tracking systems and checklists
- Complete and document assigned responsibilities
- Keep sold projects organized and properly scheduled
- Anticipate material and scheduling requirements
- Communicate issues and priorities proactively with the General Manager
- Provide clear visibility into completed work and outstanding responsibilities
- Deliver responsive, professional communication throughout the customer experience
This position is best suited for someone who enjoys sales, organization, accountability, problem-solving, and taking ownership of their work from beginning to end.
