What they need

Job Summary

We are seeking an engineer to manage the full commercial and project delivery cycle for Power Transformer and GIS servicing in Malaysia. The role combines sales support and project execution: developing accurate quotations; submitting complete offers; securing customer orders; coordinating supplier and factory purchase orders; managing project documents and deliverables; and following through on guarantees, invoicing, payment collection, and project closeout. The role works closely with customers, EPC contractors, vendors, internal teams, and Hyosung factories.

Quotation Preparation and Sales

  • Prepare detailed quotations and commercial offers, including equipment, accessories, services, engineering, logistics, duties, taxes, contingencies, payment terms, validity, delivery, warranty, and other applicable costs.

  • Build and maintain a clear cost breakdown and project profit-and-loss (P&L) estimate for each offer, showing revenue, direct and indirect costs, gross margin, assumptions, cash flow exposure, and key commercial risks.

  • Coordinate technical compliance, deviations, drawings, data sheets, and supporting documents with factories, vendors, and internal stakeholders; obtain approvals for pricing and commercial exceptions.

Project Execution

  • Coordinate preparation, review, issuance, and tracking of purchase orders to vendors and factories; align supplier scope, pricing, delivery dates, payment terms, and required documentation with the customer order and approved project budget.

  • Prepare and coordinate bank guarantees and other contract securities, including advance payment, performance, and warranty guarantees.

  • Maintain the project execution schedule, action list, coordinate engineering, production, inspection, shipping, and site activities with relevant parties.

  • Coordinate all project deliverables, including approved drawings, technical submittals, calculations, manuals, quality documents, inspection and test plans, test reports, certificates, packing lists, and shipping documents.

  • Monitor vendor and factory progress against milestones, follow up on delays and outstanding documents, and escalate issues that may affect cost, delivery, quality, customer commitments, or cash flow.

  • Coordinate customer inspections, factory acceptance tests, delivery, installation, or commissioning support, and resolution of punch-list items, where included in the contract.

Invoicing, Payment Collection & Project Closeout

  • Prepare and submit customer invoices and supporting documents in line with contractual milestones; coordinate invoice acceptance and resolve documentation or billing issues promptly.

  • Track receivables, due dates, retention and other outstanding amounts; follow up with customers for payment and coordinate internally on collection actions and cash-flow forecasts.

  • Coordinate vendor invoices and payment documentation against purchase orders, delivery milestones, and approved project costs; resolve discrepancies before payment processing.

  • Coordinate variations, change orders, claims, and additional work with the customer, vendor, and factory, ensuring written approval and commercial impact assessment before commitment.

  • Complete project closeout by confirming delivery and contractual deliverables, closing punch-list items, collecting final payments, arranging guarantee releases, reconciling project costs, and filing final records and lessons learned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.

  • Around five years of experience in electrical equipment sales, project coordination, project execution, or a related role.

  • Experience supporting TNB, utilities, EPC contractors, or data center projects is an advantage.

  • Working knowledge of tendering, technical and commercial offers, purchase orders, project documentation, contract terms, invoicing, and payment follow-up.

  • Ability to prepare cost breakdowns, project budgets, and P&L or margin forecasts, and to track actual costs against approved estimates.

  • Good written and spoken English, strong organization and follow-up skills, and the ability to coordinate across customers, vendors, and international teams.
