Sales Application Engineer

About the role

The Sales Application Engineer role involves identifying and developing new business opportunities through cold calling, customer visits, networking, referrals, and market research. You will develop new customer accounts and expand the company's customer base within an assigned territory, while building and maintaining strong relationships with key accounts and potential customers.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities through cold calling, customer visits, networking, referrals, market research and other lead-generation activities
• Develop new customer accounts and expand the company's customer base within the assigned territory
• Regularly visit existing and potential customers to understand their applications, technical requirements and future business opportunities
• Develop a good understanding of the company's products, services and technical capabilities
• Understand customer applications and recommend appropriate products or solutions based on their technical and commercial requirements
• Provide technical explanations, product presentations and application recommendations to customers
• Work closely with fabrication team to address customer technical requirements and enquiries
• Prepare technical proposals and sales presentations according to customer specifications
• Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure accurate pricing, product availability, production requirements and delivery schedules
• Follow up on quotations, projects and sales opportunities and actively convert them into orders

About you

• Minimum Diploma in Engineering or a related technical field
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field is an added advantage
• Fresh graduates welcome to apply
• Candidates with relevant internship experience or exposure to industrial, manufacturing or engineering environments encouraged to apply
• Experience in technical sales, application engineering, industrial sales, engineering or manufacturing is an added advantage
• Strong interest in developing a career in technical sales and application engineering
• Good understanding of engineering principles and ability to learn industrial products and applications
• Able to understand customer specifications, technical requirements and product applications
• Willing to travel regularly within the assigned territory
• Possess a valid driving license and own transportation
• Proficiency in spoken and written Chinese will be an added advantage
